Behind The Price
Where this guidance comes from.
Completed jobs reviewed
We reviewed the charged work in completed Housecall Pro jobs, not just job titles. These are selected examples, not a company-wide average. Planning ranges round outward around the reviewed scopes. Recorded discounts and undiscounted service charges help show the budget spread; a past discount is not a current offer. Unrelated work, unselected options and gratuities are excluded. Your written proposal confirms your equipment, work and price. We checked 21 distinct general-plumbing jobs: ten toilet-led, four faucet-led and seven disposal-led records, some with additional fixture work. A discounted single-toilet repair was $211.50; a shower valve/trim line was $1,395 before unrelated toilet work. The sample is not 21 examples of each individual fixture type. Per-unit line amounts below are before invoice-wide discounts unless described as completed invoice totals.
Scope: Planning range for the reviewed single-fixture repair and installation scopes, from a toilet component through shower-valve work. Equipment ownership, the number of fixtures and additional connection work change the total. Whole-invoice bundles are separated below.

Planning range from reviewed work.
Who supplies the equipment?
Compare the same work. Installing a unit you already own and providing a new unit with the installation cover different costs.

Different work. Different price.
Toilet component repair / tune-up
$211.50–$435
Reviewed clean single-toilet invoices, including recorded discounts. Larger multi-toilet bills and flange work are separate.
Farrell-supplied standard toilet
$790–$855 per toilet
Two jobs covering three new toilets. These are unit charges before invoice-level discounts. A two-toilet job had a bulk discount; that is not a standard one-toilet offer.
Customer-supplied new toilet
$435 per toilet example
One reviewed two-toilet installation, with a separate 10% invoice discount. You supply the toilets. Additional flange, valve or floor work changes the scope.
Toilet reset
$310–$335
One existing-toilet pull/reset and one customer-supplied reset. The second record does not confirm whether the fixture was existing or newly purchased. Neither price includes a new Farrell-supplied toilet.
Toilet flange replacement
$810 line-item example
One reviewed bundled job. Its other toilet repairs and invoice-wide discount are separate; finished-floor work was excluded.
Customer-supplied faucet installation
$280–$350
Two reviewed basic kitchen/lavatory installation lines before any invoice-wide discount. The kitchen invoice also included sink removal; the equipment is yours.
New chrome center-set faucet package
$555 example
One reviewed scope included installation of a new chrome center-set faucet. Confirm who supplies the equipment in the proposal. Premium fixtures and extra connection work need their own scope.
Kitchen faucet packages
$600–$817.50
Two reviewed basic/pull-down package lines. Confirm equipment ownership in your proposal; those records did not expressly identify who purchased the fixture.
Farrell-supplied garbage disposal
$598.50–$815
Three clean completed invoice examples for supplied-and-installed 1/2–3/4 HP units. Some included a discount.
Customer-supplied garbage disposal
$308.75–$335.80
Two clean completed installation invoices. A third was $436.50 with separately priced drain rerouting and an invoice discount. Your equipment purchase is separate.
Shower valve and chrome trim
$1,395 line-item example
One reviewed valve/trim scope. The $1,630 whole invoice also included a separate toilet repair.
Other fixtures, cartridges and under-sink work
Written price
Brand, available parts, shutoffs, drains and access determine the work. We confirm the exact repair or replacement before you approve it.
What changes the price at your property?
- Repairing the existing fixture versus replacing it.
- The brand, model, parts, and whether you supply the new fixture.
- The condition of shutoffs, supply lines, drain connections, and mounting surfaces.
- One repair versus several tasks in the same visit.
What the work covers.
- The fixture or component work identified in the selected service.
What may be separate.
- A new fixture when the service is installation of customer-supplied equipment.
- Additional shutoffs, drain work, wall access, and surface repairs unless listed.
Before you approve the work.
Make sure your written proposal explains the diagnosis, the work included, any separate items, and the total price. If something is unclear, ask. We want you to understand your options before you decide.
